Sillar Rout

Arequipa is know as the white city, mainly because of the rock that was used to build a great part of it. That rock is known as sillar and it’s a volcanic rock.

In this 5-hour tour you’ll be able to get to know how the sillar quarries worked back then, as well as how they extracted the stones and carved the facade of buildings like the Church of the Company of Jesus (Iglesia de la compañia de Jesus).

Salinas Lagoon
